The vision for Youth Ministry at St George's Church is that God will meet our young people in the everyday so that we can grow a generation of disciples who are leaders, preachers, teachers, worshippers, pioneers of social justice, and more!

Edge is the banner under which all our youth ministry takes place, it’s stands for Every Day God Encounters. The ethos of the Edge ministry is everyone, everywhere, everyday.

  • Everyone is welcomed in by Jesus, to hear the gospel;
  • As disciples of Jesus, we have a responsibility to share the gospel everywhere
  • That we find God in the everyday, seeking him in all things.

Edge Church provides a pathway for young people to follow throughout school years 7-13, growing them into confident and strong disciples who are rooted in the Word of God.

Where you can get involved?

Pathfinders

Our Sunday morning youth provision during the 9.15am service.   The main focuses for this group are looking at how the stories of the Bible are relevant to us today, and helping youth to understand faith in the context of church life.

Edge Football Club

Football open to all, a relaxed, social football setting with Christlike sportsmanship

Ignite

Ignite is a Bible study for younger youth who are looking to study the Bible and learn more about faith.   We want to equip young people to study the Bible themselves.

Takeaway

Our fortnightly gathering for older youth to hang out together, eat food and discuss what they have ‘taken away’ from that evening service.

Edge Unleashed

A place for young people to come and be at the end of the week, to spend time with friends, play games and ask questions.   We have a short time of teaching before ‘unleashing’ youth on the building, from board games to video games, with ball games for those with more energy and leaders around to chat and pray with young people.
